Indianapolis, IN – October 15, 2024 – The Indianapolis Bar Foundation and Indy Bar Association are proud to announce that John C. Trimble has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious Luminary Award, the highest honor bestowed by the organizations. John becomes the 21st individual to receive this distinguished award since its inception in 1990, a testament to the rarity and significance of this recognition.
The Luminary Award is not an annual honor but is reserved for those who have made extraordinary contributions to the legal profession and the community. John is being recognized for his positive influence on our community, his unique and lasting contributions to the Association, and his extended and significant service to the legal profession.
John C. Trimble will be formally honored at the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Recognition Breakfast, scheduled for Wednesday, November 20, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Meridian Hills Country Club. The event will feature the presentation of several awards, with the Luminary Award serving as the highlight of the morning.
About John Trimble
For over 40 years, John C. Trimble has been a significant figure in Indiana’s legal industry and community. As one of the state’s most sought-after mediators, John is regularly called upon to mediate high-profile cases and arbitrate disputes in various areas, including bodily injury, business dissolution, and commercial conflicts.
John’s legal practice spans catastrophic, complex, and class action litigation in both state and federal courts. He has a strong background in insurance coverage disputes, bad faith defense, malpractice cases, and business litigation. He has been admitted pro hac vice in more than 35 jurisdictions and often serves as local counsel in Indiana for out-of-state firms. John has also argued numerous appeals in state and federal appellate courts.
His accolades include consistent recognition in Indiana Super Lawyers® since 2004, with a top ranking from 2011-2021. John was named Defense Lawyer of the Year and received the prestigious Louis B. Potter Lifetime Professional Service Award from DRI in 2021. He was also honored in the Indianapolis Business Journal’s inaugural Indiana 250 list in 2022.
Beyond his legal practice, John plays an active leadership role at Lewis Wagner and in the Indianapolis community. He has served as President of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Chair of the Board of Visitors at I.U. Robert H. McKinney School of Law, and in various other influential positions. His ongoing commitment to the legal profession includes mentoring the next generation of legal minds and contributing to numerous professional organizations.
