Peter Elliott is an attorney at Lewis Wagner LLP, where he concentrates his practice on insurance coverage disputes. With a passion for solving complex legal issues, Peter draws on his extensive experience in commercial litigation to help clients navigate challenging cases.
A lifelong Hoosier, Peter grew up in the Indianapolis area and pursued his legal career with the goal of serving his community. After earning his law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Peter spent eight years as the first Lawyer-Law Clerk for the Indiana Commercial Court in Marion County. This specialized court, established by the Indiana Supreme Court, was created to handle complex business and commercial disputes with efficiency and expertise. During his tenure, Peter played a key role in the court’s evolution from a pilot project to a permanent docket, handling high-stakes cases involving multimillion-dollar verdicts, precedent-setting decisions on temporary restraining orders and liquidated damages, and insurance coverage in mass tort proceedings.
Peter’s time at the Commercial Court provided him with invaluable insights into intricate legal matters, which he now applies to his work at Lewis Wagner. He is particularly skilled at advising clients on insurance coverage issues, leveraging his experience in large-scale litigation to guide them through disputes with clarity and precision.
Outside the office, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, often exploring local parks and attending community festivals. He is also an avid gardener, enjoys cooking, playing recreational sports, and is actively involved in civic and bar associations.
